The eSkwela experience takes an extra step forward from November 19-26, 2008, when The eSkwela Project launches the very first ICT Camp for its best learners, mobile teachers and instructional managers.

Conceived as an 8-day activity filled with interesting discussions and group workshops, there will be 6 available tracks that the participants can follow for training:

• Desktop Publishing
• Digital Storytelling
  
• Web Designing
  
• Video Editing
• Audio/Music Production
• Community Mapping
  

Each track has a corresponding module which will be the basis for their ICT Camp projects, which involve designing and producing an ICT-based project portfolio at the end of the program of activities.  The project will be an avenue for stimulating creativity, building leadership skills, and promoting teamwork.   

With resources from some of the best experts in the field, and intensive lessons using open-source software, the eSkwela ICT Camp will be conducted at the Central Luzon State University in Nueva Ecija, a three-hour drive north of Manila. The venue was selected due to the variety of environments available in the campus that could serve as inspiration to the participants as they develop their ICT projects. 

In turn, the participants are expected take part in the mentoring process by sharing what they learned at the camp with the rest of the eSkwela community through instructor-to-instructor, instructor-to-learner, and learner-to-learner interactions.

The eSkwela ICT Camp is funded by a grant from the APEC Education Foundation and is organized through the efforts of the eSkwela Project and its parent organization, the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) through its Human Capital Development Group.
